We encourage our staff to be lifelong learners and do so by offering:

  • Challenging Work Environment
  • Personal Career Development

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) & Continuing Skills Development
CPA Exam: We know that the successful completion of the CPA exam is important to you, and it is important to us. In order to support you in that endeavor, we offer paid time off to sit for the exam and an interest-free loan to assist with exam study materials or programs and exam fees. We also offer a sliding-scale bonus for the successful completion of each part of the exam.

Technical Training: We offer many opportunities (both internally and externally) to assist staff in improving their technical skills. Tax-specific and audit-specific training is offered in-house and is often taught by our Senior Management.

Industry Training: In an effort to serve the needs of our clients, we offer opportunities to attend local, state, and national training conferences, as well as in-house seminars on various industry-specific topics.

Leadership Training: We offer a series of classes aimed at developing your interpersonal and business skills, which provide you with the tools to successfully interact with clients, manage your time and projects, and manage staff. A sampling of those classes include Client Service & Relationship-Building, Business Etiquette, Time Management, Introduction to Coaching & Giving Feedback, and more.

Software Training: We provide many resources that aid efficiency and improve productivity, but they aren’t any good if you don’t know how to use them. To make sure that you can put your time to the best use, we offer in-house training on all of our software.

Challenging Work Environment
We want you to make the most of your career at Dean, Dorton & Ford. We make sure that is possible by giving you the opportunity to work in one or more service areas (Tax, Audit, and Consulting) and in one or more of our six industry specialization areas.
